Combine a military grade laser rangefinder with a Gen 3 Night Vision tube. The Moskito is an ideal laser location and orientation tool.
The Moskito is a combination observation and location unit. It is a Day/Night rangefinder that can reach out past 5km, and allows the user to jump between daytime optics and night vision enhancement at a moment's notice. The Moskito measures range, azimuth and vertical angle. In addition, it incorporates the latest image intensifier technology for night time viewing, including auto-gating self-regulation to different levels of brightness.
The Moskito has seen use by U.S. Army Recon teams in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a unified observation and location system, it replaces 5 other peices of equipment that prevously had to be carried and used seperately.
The Moskito is built for reconnaissance where a light-weight, flexible optics platform is desireable. Rapidly varying light conditions, especially in the urban environment, demand an optical day viewing channel plus a quickly activated night channel. MOSKITO's night channel uses an autogated image intensifier tube which dynamically adjusts itself to different levels of brightness.
Because it uses a class 1 eyesafe laser, and represents everything you need in one device, the Moskito has been popular for private security, peace keep detachments, and police forces as well. The daytime monocular provides 5x magnification, while the night vision tube has 3x magnification.
