The 4500A is the pinnacle of Kestrel's wind meter technology. A full weather station, the 4500A tracks over 15 environmental variables from the palm of your hand. Then, switch on the Applied Ballistics shooting software and load in a custom profile for your rifle. The 4500A makes wind-calls and shooting solutions a breeze, and is a crucial tool for anyone committed to precision.
Our Marksman's kit includes the key equipment to keep you on the gun and put the necessary data at your fingertips. An included mini-tripod and kestrel-mount lets you take the wind meter out of your hand and makes it part of your "heads up display" without having to put down the rifle. We've also included the Crosstac long range data organizer: a chest pouch system designed from the ground up to keep the key components of long range shooting safe and secure, but ready at a moment's notice.
The Kestrel 4500A Series applied ballistics meter combines sophisticated environmental sensing with long-range shooting ballistics information in one hand-held device. The built in Applied Ballistics software provides all of the following: "Litz" library of G1 and G7 referenced Ballistic Coefficients (BC's); custom drag curve modelling, helpful in engaging targets beyond the supersonic range of the bullet; and ballistic calibration (truing) feature that allows you to "train" the solver based on actual bullet impact.
The Applied Ballistics model has a different truing application from the Horus version with drop scale factor, it has bullet length as a standard gun input (used to calculate spin drift), offers ± angle input, has the ability to use G1 or G7 ballistic coefficients (BC) and comes pre-loaded with 7 custom drag profiles.
The Applied Ballistics® option features a calculator which provides accurate elevation and windage targeting solutions for long range rifle shooting. Shooters have everything they need to make a much more precise trajectory calculation in a compact and durable Kestrel meter design.
Available with Bluetooth® Data Transfer which is recommended for Full Gun and Bullet Profile Customization and Backup. Both real-time and logged data can be transferred wirelessly and automatically to a laptop or PDA, making a Kestrel Shooter's Weather Meter with Applied Ballistics and Bluetooth® technology the perfect tool for virtually any job that requires quick and reliable data.
